CT1DSV – Jose Araujo

Jose was licensed in 1987 as CT1DSV and enthusiastic of radio scouting he was the National Jamboree on the Air organizer for AEP (Portuguese Scout Association)
for about 20 years. Jose has introduced ham radio to lots of young scout members and every year he keeps helping new Scout Groups to participate in the biggest world scout activity (Jota-Joti).
Jose has been involved in Scouting since 1974 and, being elected AEP’s International Commissioner and then National Chief Scout, he has travelled around the world and participated in lots of European and World Scout Seminars and Task Groups and in all European and World Scout Conferences since 2004. A natural team leader, he was the Portuguese Head of Contingent in three World Scout Jamborees (UK, Sweden and South Korea).
Professionally, he was a reporter and radio presenter at number one radio group in Portugal for 15 years, and nowadays works as freelancer VO and translator.
He has served as leader, co-leader or member in IOTA expeditions, lighthouse activations, etc.
He is a member of REP (Portuguese IARU member) and ARLHS.
