Dxpedition member

Jorge is a IT engineer with more than thirty years experience with a global brand in the tire industry.
First licensed in 1980 with a Class A as CT1BOL.
Main interest in Dxing, Dxpeditions and contesting

Jorge traveled around the world for work reasons.  In some cases he combined with Amateur radio and operated from different countries. 

In 2009 he operated as W1AW from the ARRL HQ Club Station in Newington, CT and also operated as W2/CT1BOL from New Jersey in the US.

He has participated and operated in several IOTA Dxpeditions.
In 2008 he participated with a team to activate the call CQ9U from Desertas Islands which consist of a group of three small islands:  Ilheu Chao, Deserta Grande and Bugio.
The team also operated the Special Event Station with the callsign of CT95S.  

In 2009 Jorge participated in a CT3+CT1 Join Dxpedition with a team operators activating CR3D from Desertas Islands (AF046) 

In 2017 we traveled to Sao Tome and activated the call S9CT.

In 2017 he travelled to Berlenga Island as CR5B

In 2018 he went back to Sao Tome and Principe island with the same call of S9CT.

In 2022 Jorge was part of a team activating CR3SI (AF047) from Selvagens Island 

Jorge has operated his callsign from different countries among the following:  CU2/CT1BOL, W2/CT1BOL , PY6CT1BOL, (2009), 9M2CT1BOL from North Malaysia
and CT9/CT1BOL from Madeira Island in 2012.

He has participated in several major contest thru out of his years in Amateur Radio and has achieved important scores in different categories during 2019 in CQWW
and ARRL DX, in 2020 during the ARRL DX , IARU and CQWW in both CW and SSB 

Jorge is member of the Natinal Association of Amateur Radio of Portugal known as (Rede dos Emissores Portugueses) EP, society member of IARU.
